Especially after giving birth to twins between the GOTG movies, she leveraged a healthy eating lifestyle alongside her workouts to reprise her role as Gamora, Guardian of the Galaxy. |
The Gamora Workout
Zoe Saldana's workout in preparation to play Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy. Peform each move in succession without resting in between exercises. After completing each exercise of the circuit, rest 1 minute, then repeat the circuti 4x. Repeat 3x a week with a day of rest in between. After the circuit, complete 5 rounds of bicycle HIIT!
Find your athletic stance by jumping in place a few times.
Have your toes out and knees tracked over the toes.
Lower into a seated position (squat), bringing arms in
front of you.
Return to standing."
Hold a tight plank position on the ground and look forward.
Place your knees on the ground to leverage your weight.
Drop down until your chest touches the ground.
Come up and return to plank.
Stand in a lunge position and explosively jump as high as you can, switching your legs midair.
Land softly and repeat, switching your legs back .
That’s one rep.
Grasp a pull-up bar, with body hanging straight down, clear of the wall.
Gently brace arms (as if about to do a pull-up).
While holding body steady and tucking pelvis, lift knees (or straight legs, depending on fitness level).
Raise knees (or legs) as high as possible, then lower them to starting position.
Sitting on a recumben bike, pedal at a moderate pace and resistance for 2 minutes.
Then, SPRINT as fast as possible for 15 secs. Repeat 5x.
The Gamora WOrkout

Saldana lost 70 lbs after giving birth to twins between Guardians of the Gala films, and has attributed that to maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle in all things, fitness, nutrition, along with everything else.
